Stade Vélodrome

The Stade Vélodrome is located in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. As a fabulous multi-purpose football stadium in France, it has been taken as the home football stadiums Olympique de Marseille football club of Ligue 1 since its inauguration in 1937. It held several significant international competitions in the past decades, such as the 1998 FIFA World Cup, the 2007 Rugby World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2016. It is widely regarded as a multi-purpose football stadium for its large capacity, short discharge time and modern infrastructure. It consists of four stands that they are named after athletes, plague and an Olympique de Marseille supporter.

Four kilometers away from the Old Port of Marseille, the stadium lies in the neighboring areas of Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Giniez, which is in the Southern Marseille. It is convenient for spectators’ accession, because it is surrounded by complex transportation networks. After refurbishment in 2014, capacity of the football stadium has increased to 67,000 spectators from previous 60,031 spectators.
